Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, Government Spokesperson on governance and security, claims the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has an agenda to denigrate the Electoral Commission (EC).

During a discussion on Joy Prime after the “Enough is Enough” demonstration staged by the NDC, Palgrave Boakye-Danquah stated that the Electoral Commission made the Voters’ Register available to all political parties through the limited voter exhibition.

He mentioned that during the exercise, political parties needed to be vigilant and not wait for the electoral process to be completed before blaming the Electoral Commission by staging demonstrations.

“From the beginning of the year, the NDC had a clear agenda: to denigrate the EC, to state that the Electoral Commission lacks credibility, to want to cause mayhem, and also to say they won’t accept the voters’ register,” he claimed.

He further stated that he is confident the Electoral Commission will resolve any discrepancies in the voters’ register before the elections.

“There are various provisions made available at polling stations, so I don’t think anyone will go to the polling station and not find their names in the register,” he argued.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) protested against the Electoral Commission (EC) on September 17, 2024.

The leadership of the NDC ordered all its regional offices to protest after raising concerns over alleged discrepancies in the 2024 voter register.

The NDC raised concerns when it was furnished with the provisional voters’ register, stating there were many discrepancies, including the bloating of the electoral roll in some polling stations, which it said were part of the EC’s attempts to rig the December 7 polls to favor the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
