The Eastern Regional branch of the People’s National Convention (PNC) has alleged that the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) government has greatly devalued Ghana’s democracy with their ineptitude and corrupt practices.
The Party made this claim in a press statement signed by Mr Ustaz Yakuba Salifu, the Regional Secretary, and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Koforidua.
According to the press statement, the best legacy the NDC would ever be remembered for is the “credibility in the industry of corruption and economic mismanagement.”
It said the present crop of politicians under the leadership of President Mahama had turned politics into a value-deficient society with grave consequences, which is also gradually turning the country into a shameless nation without values.
The statement indicated that Dr Hilla Liman, former President of Ghana, under the Peoples National Party, exhibited transformational leadership and good governance which showed in him, a service addict, who was ready to provide service to mother Ghana.
However, the present day NDC politicians are made up of persons who abuse power, engage in self-enrichment and consume state resources, which render Ghana prostrate, placing it a step from a failed state.
“The New Patriotic Party under former President John Agyekum Kufour, though not all that good, brought about free maternal delivery care, mass transit metro buses and the National Health Insurance policy among others, but the NDC administration has collapsed almost all of that, which was meant to cut down hardship facing Ghanaians,” the statement said.
It therefore urged Ghanaians to change their attitude of conservativeness in their voting style and rather consider voting the PNC come 2016 for transformational leadership and good governance.
