Tamale, Jan. 02, GNA - Alhaji Abukari Sumani, Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale North on Tuesday said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was poised to win the 2008 election with ease to enable it to exert good governance to Ghanaians. He said even though the signs of Ghanaians rejecting the NPP in 2008 were clear, foot soldiers of the NDC should warm up and device new campaign strategies to win more souls to ensure massive victory for the party to avoid a second round of voting.
Alhaji Sumani said these at a meeting with constituency executives in Tamale to throw light on the activities of the party towards winning election 2008. The meeting was also to accord the constitutes the opportunity to interact and advise the MP and offer useful suggestions on measures that would enhance the parties progress both at grassroots and other levels. Alhaji Sumani said the recent National Congress of the party in Accra had intensified the popularity of the party and that those who wished the party "Dead" now envy NDC and called on members throughout the country to remain more united. He enumerated his development achievements and appealed to communities that have not yet enjoyed any form of development during his tenure to remain patient since 2009 would usher in Professor John Evans Atta Mills and more development projects would come to their doorsteps.
Alhaji Abdulai Haruna Friday, Northern Regional Secretary of the party said the NDC was now more united than ever and called on those who were doubtful about NDC winning power in 2008 to have confidence and join the campaign trail. He appealed to those who left the party to join other parties to trace the roots and be part of the winning process in 2008 and that they have endured in opposition for six years adding that 2009 would end their frustration. Alhaji Mohammed Mamoud, Tamale North Constituency chairman called on foot soldiers to close their ranks and remain vigilant during voting day in 2008 to ensure that the elections were not rigged, so as to record a massive victory for the party.
