The Vice Presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has said the promise by Nana Akufo Addo to give every constituency one million dollars every year is very feasible and that the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), are aware of its feasibility.

Dr. Bawumia while touring the Gomoa East constituency of the Centarl Region said, the money is already there, just that this government has not made it their priority. The NPP recently added the one million dollars per constituency policy to its list of campaign promises.

According to the party, the one million, one constituency policy which is aimed at fighting poverty in Ghana is completely feasible and will be implemented if Nana Akufo-Addo is elected in December.

Out of this amount, one million dollars will be given to each of the 275 constituencies a year for four years for projects targeted at fighting poverty across the country.

This policy has been described by some elements of the governing National Democratic Congress as a promise only meant to win votes and not meant to be executed.

But the former deputy governor of the Central Bank said, the policy is possible hence voters should not be deceived by the propaganda of the NDC. He added, the governing NDC has managed the economy poorly and that is why we are suffering.

''We have so much money in this country but bad leadership, mismanagement, corruption and incompetence have made us poor. I have worked in the Bank of Ghana before and so i know Ghana is extremely rich but the current government has stolen our money... We [NPP] are bringing in a new form of leadership to transform the economy of this country.''

He also reiterated their resolve to re-introduce the teacher trainee allowance.
