The New Patriotic Party has described the various promises made by President John Mahama when he delivered highlights of the NDC’s manifesto Tuesday as mere political talk intended to win votes.
According to the party, the president is yet to fulfill most of the promises he made to the Ghanaian people during the 2012 electioneering and therefore has no moral right to make further promises.
The President among many other things promised to set up a committee to explore the possibility of creating five more regions in addition to the prevailing ten, if he wins the December 7 polls.
“We currently have 10 regions. We believe that it is possible to increase the number of regions to 15”.
He also said he will make the position of MMDCEs elective in his next term as president.
But responding to the promises, Communications Director of the NPP Nana Akomea told the media in Accra Wednesday that the President and the NDC are just deceiving Ghanaians with the new promises.
