Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has expressed worry that some party members are already fighting over positions.
According to him, this needs to end, and a premium should be placed on winning the elections in 2024 first.
He made this known while addressing party members at the outdooring of Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.
The Chairman of the NDC said, “Some people are not only vying for positions; they are also positioning themselves as kingmakers who will make all appointments. This approach can dampen the enthusiasm of our followers”.
We are not there yet. Let’s focus on winning first and then discuss how to share the rewards.”
“Let me say that, I don’t have any list, and so for those of them who were referred to by the General Secretary as having chosen their positions, you may be very, very deeply disappointed,” he said.
Several polls have pointed to the fact that the NDC will win the 2024 elections considering the economic despair the people of Ghana have been subjected to.
Even though the New Patriotic Party hopes to break the eight and make history, the country's conditions make this vision very difficult to achieve unless something drastic happens.
