The Deputy Minister for Works and Housing, Mr Eugene Antwi has vowed that, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) would never be given the opportunity to come close to the national purse.

Mr Eugene Antwi, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Subin Constituency in the Ashanti Region, on Abusua Fm in Kumasi on Thursday during an interview with Kwame Adinkra observed that the manner in which the NDC has mismanaged the state coffers, they should not be given another opportunity.

According to him, the NDC as a political party under the leadership of former President John Dramani Mahama has done great harm to the country in their 8-year term in office.

“If not for the fear of God and the fact is Ghana can’t be a one party state, NDC should never be allowed come close to national purse. Never! They are rare thieves”. He alleged.

The NPP MP also descended on Ghanaians and blamed them for voting the NDC to power in 2008 in the first place.

He said:”Ghanaians were in too much hurry to change power at the time”.

“I sometimes feel pity for Ghanaians, for being in hurry to vote them into power. This is because looking at the point former President Agyekum Kufuor took this nation to, if NPP was given the opportunity to continue, Ghana would have been a better country by now”. Mr Antwi observed.

The lawmaker blamed the NDC for neglecting projects which were started by the ruling NPP when they took over power in 2008, accusing them of being discriminatory in sharing of national cake saying, “they are much concerned about their strongholds leaving the rest of the country underdeveloped”.
