The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has nicknamed Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolgatanga, Isaac Adongo after Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

A video has emerged on social media in which the Minority Chief Whip, Alhaji Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka was heard referring to him as Bawumia soon after a press conference last week.

The Minority in parliament it would be recalled, last week held a press conference to address the Bank of Ghana’s (BoG’s) clean up exercise in the banking sector.

The media was addressed by National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolgatanga Central, Mr Isaac Adongo who at the close of the day was seen parted at the back by his colleague Muntaka for a splendid delivery as he was heard saying “Bawumia, Bawumia”.

Isaac Adongo in response to a town hall meeting by the Vice President in April this year, nicknamed him ‘Walewale Adam Smith’.

But the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Upper East Regional Chairman, Anthony Namoo also called him out as “Tindonsobligo Adam Smith” (a community where Isaac Adongo hails from) just as Isaac Adongo tagged Dr. Bawumia as “Walewale Adam Smith, adding that the NDC MP, unfortunately, cannot boast of attracting any development project to appreciate the people who voted for him in the constituency.

“The people voted him to parliament to bring development and not to be making himself popular by targeting one person; the Vice President, Dr. Bawumia. He has done nothing in terms of bringing developmental projects into the constituency. He has not push for bread and butter for the people, so clearly, he’s marking his time come 2020.” He explained.
