Fonder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and former President of Ghana, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings says the party risk being swindled by some criminal elements within the party including some executives for their selfish interest.

Though he will not name these characters, Mr Rawlings is worried that some members including, executives of the party have over the period subjected him to public ridicule because he is averse to their sickening’ greed.

Recounting his bitter experience in the hands of some party executives under the immediate past administration, he said most of them were distrustful and corrupt but made him appear as the evil one.

He was particularly saddened that the late Professor Evans Atta Mills, then flagbearer of the party looked on unconcerned while some elements within the party heaped vicious unsubstantiated allegations against him.

“When the time to pour poison on me started, they made up stories against me. I was disgusted but the one who angered me the most was Professor Mills who knew the truth but kept quiet for this poison to burn me…. I was fraudulent. During our last campaign some character, somebody called the son of domestication, a crazy man I guess aided by some of the craziest executives in the party tried to also malign me. Our party invited such a character on our last campaign platform”, he said.

A livid Rawlings asked members of the party open their eyes and minds before they are taken through a political 419 in the party.
