The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Chairman for the New Juabeng North in the Eastern Region, Kwadwo Boateng-Agyemang, has said the erstwhile Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) government perpetuated a massive fraud on Ghanaians, likening the regime to a ‘Sakawa’ enterprise.

According to him, the NDC government was a fraudulent one which misappropriated funds in every sector of the economy and also swindled investors who had good intentions of investing in the economy.

The NPP firebrand made the allegation on Friday in a telephone with Atinka News. He was responding to claims by some avid NDC members that President is inadvertently looting the state through the 998 workforce at the Presidency.

Mr Boateng- Agyemang also alleged the previous government failed to account for a whopping $10m at the Precious Mineral Marketing Company and also duped many expatiates who wanted to do business with them (PMMC) .

“The PMMC under the NDC made advertisements for investors to come do business with the company. However, management failed to deliver their end of the bargain after the investors made huge financial commitments. They also failed to refund monies to the investors. Is this not similar to the modus operadi of internet fraudsters (Sakawa boys) in the country,? Chairman queried.

He, however, chided the ruling government for failing to conduct a forensic audit into the accounts and dealings of state agencies and organizations. He said Ghanaians would be shocked to hear the massive corruption and ‘chop chop’ under the NDC.

In furtherance, Chairman said an Indian businessman who was swindled of an amount of $100,000 in the deal is “being tossed about” just like that.
