Victims of political activities of the National Democratic Congress will again heave a sigh of relief.
This follows the raising of about 232, 000 Ghana Cedis by the leadership of the Heroes Fund to cater political victims of the party.
The endowment facility was initiated by the NDC last year to cater for some needs of party faithfuls who will be affected negatively whilst engaging in political activities.
Addressing party faithfuls at a fund raising dinner in Accra, the Board Chairman of the Heroes Fund, Ambassador James Victor Gheho appealed entire membership of the party to donate generously to support other political victims of the party.
“Political activities of the fund would have to be dependent on the generosity of respective dionors and the general public. The fund which was inaygurated last year had been inaundated with applications from numerous deserving sources but had been unableto help most of them. We need your positive responds to deliver on our mandate, Ambassador Gbeho intimated”.
He howerver pointed out that the funds had provided support to some beneneficiaries over the past months.
“The fund to the extent that your generosity has allowed has in the past five months provided support in diverse forms to clearly identified beneficiries who would have been neglected in their time of need if the fund had not existed, he stressed”.
The Board Chairman of the Heroes Fund of the National Democratic Congress also indicated that management of the fund will offer skills to the victims in the cominig years.
“ We hope to be able in the nera future to enagage in the training of victims in various vocations in order to to equip them with the necessary skills adding not only to live relatibvely independent but also regain their their honour, he emphasized”.
‘’Even though presently the fund belongs to members of the NDC , it is the secret wish of the board of trustees that tghrough your munifiscience the fund should be able to extend succour to all victims of mishap or misfortune on account of political activity”.
