The minister for local government and rural development Samuel Ofosu Ampofo says
the achievement of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper
West region two years into the Mills administration s more than the eight years
of the previous administration under President John Agyekum Kufuor.
He said the commitment of government to build a better Ghana is not a mirage but
a reality.
According to him the NPP failed to pursue a comprehensive agenda of improving
the life’s of the people, and that the President Mills led government will not
go that path.
Samuel Ofosu Ampofo who is with the president in the Upper West region dared the
NPP to compare and contrast the level of development in the Upper West region
two years under the Mills leadership and the eight years of the NPP under
President Kufuor and set the records straight.
He tells Gold News that the projects those which have been completed and the
ones under construction are ample evidence of the honesty of the president when
he said he will build a better Ghana.
‘’I am not saying it. It is the chiefs and people in both Upper East and Western
regions. They have seen it for themselves and they showed it in their welcome as
they received president Mills into their respective regions’’ Ofosu Ampofo said.
He indicated that the commissioning of electrification projects in Nakolo, a
Water system project in Babile, inspection of the Twenty five million Ghana cedi
Nadowli-Lawra-Hamile road, sod cutting for the water treatment plant at Vea,
assembly hall complex for the UDS Navrongo campus amongst a lot more means
President Mills is on course.
The former National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) said, ‘’
by the time the president finishes with his tour of the ten regions, Ghanaians
will be left with no choice but to retain the NDC in power’’.
He said, he was optimistic that Ghanaians will not reject President Mills in
twenty 12 because he is a leader that the people can trust.
‘’If for nothing at all the tradition will continue as it did with former
presidents Rawlings and Kufuor who got eight years apiece in government’’ Ofosu
Ampofo said.
