Accra, April 23, GNA - The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Huudu Yahaya, on Sunday noted that decline in world market price of cocoa, gold and other primary products and increase in oil prices has made the year crucial for the party and the country.
In a special Easter message issued in Accra, he said this not withstanding, the government is taking measures to put the economy back on track for a quick recovery.
"The hierarchy of NDC has made strenuous effort to put structures in place, calculated to make it a formidable and winsome party". He said the NDC has travelled a long way since 1992 to become the most popular political party with the largest following in the annals of the political history of this country.
Alhaji Yuudu Yahaya called on the people to continue to have faith and confidence in the party adding that with the right programmes and policies, the nation would move forward.
He urged members of the NDC and the Progressive Alliance to remain united more than ever and to renew their commitment and dedication to ensure an overwhelming victory in both the presidential and parliamentary elections.
