A group calling itself the Coalition of NPP Zongo Youth has said that the Minority failed to apply ‘common sense’ with its decision to boycott the 2020 State of the Nation’s Address.

The Minority MPs in demonstrating their displeasure with certain developments in the country, stormed out of parliament just when President Akufo-Addo was about to deliver his fourth State of the Nation Address.

Explaining the reason for their actions, Minority Leader Haruna Iddrissu accused the president and his government of ‘tyranny, despotism and authoritarianism’.

But in a press release signed by its organizer, the Pro-NPP group slammed the NDC for courting shame and disgrace for the country.

It said that the NDC is ‘misbehaving’ because they have not recovered from the 2016 Election defeat.

“The NDC is still suffering from the humiliation and embarrassment of their 2016 defeat. In fact, they have nothing good to offer the country. The NDC is noted for its propaganda and diabolism which they must stop.

Recalcitrant behavior, insults and negative noise making is what they think wins elections. We are sorry to point it out to them that they are wrong. They should find an alternative way through better policy formulations like free senior high school, 1D1F, national ID cards, school feeding etc. that will inure to the utmost benefit of the masses.

Below is the full statement

THE GIFT OF REASONING AND COMMON SENSE

The Minority, lead by Haruna Iddrisu, have the gut to walk out of parliament and accuse the majority of corruption after taking double salary for years. The NDC stole state resources with impunity through bus branding, GYEEDA, SADA, Brazil 2014 World Cup fiasco, sole sourcing, inflating contracts etc. The minority should bow their heads in shame for their unwarranted actions which have gained worldwide attention. They really acted like 5th graders. They really failed to use the common sense approach. The big question is: "what message are they sending to the young ones?". People who have run the country's economy into the ditch are those with loud mouth today.

The NDC is still suffering from the humiliation and embarrassment of their 2016 defeat. In fact, they have nothing good to offer the country. The NDC is noted for its propaganda and diabolism which they must stop. Recalcitrant behavior, insults and negative noise making is what they think wins elections. The NDC today call Akuffo Addo a thief. If so, then what name do they give to the former President, H.E John Dramani Mahama who used dubious means to give the nation's bauxite at Nyinahini in Ashanti Region to his paternal brother, Ibrahim Mahama? Again, what name do they give to The Incompetent One (TIO) who exchanged contracts with ford expedition and the latest one being the almighty Airbus scandal?

Thanks, H.E President Akuffo Addo for your regime pricelessly saw and actualized the year of return as a result of the peace and stability we are enjoying in the country contrary to reception of GUANTANAMO BAY ELEMENTS in the country by the elsewhere administration of John Mahama which plunged the entire nation into fear and panic.

What really surprises us most was Hon. Muntaka Mubarick, MP for Asawase Constituency, taking part in the walk out to pursue the interest of the NDC rather than his constituents. We in Asawase describe it as unfortunate and we shall hold him accountable to his actions.

In fact, those who have thrived in deceit will always find the truth to be the most painful and most shameful thing to face. NDC is the worse opposition party Ghana ever had and rejecting it in 2020 is a service dedicated to the nation.
