Kumasi, June 30, GNA - Mr Joseph Boure Salifu, the National Democratic Congress (NDC)'s Constituency Secretary for Asawasi in Kumasi, has appealed to party supporters and activists to be vigilant and reject any form of inducement from other political parties to vote for them.

He said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) despite failure to deliver on its campaign promises, was determined to win the December 2008 elections no matter the cost.

Mr Salifu who said this when he interacted with the NDC faithful in the Constituency in Kumasi at the weekend, alleged that the NP has adopted the strategy of influencing electorates with all forms of inducement such as gifts.

He urged party supporters to explain the Party's manifesto to the electorate, since it was the only means to the solutions of the country's present socio-economic predicament after the NPP has mismanaged the economy.

Mr Salifu also advised the NDC foot soldiers to intensify their campaign to draw more people to vote massively for the flagbearer, Professor John Atta-Mills. He described Prof. Mills as the only presidential candidate among the lot who has the experience and expertise to manage the affairs of the country. The Constituency Secretary said the NDC would retain the Asawasi seat on the achievements of Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak, the NDC MP for the area.

Mr Salifu, therefore, cautioned the party supporters to reject the vile propaganda being peddled against the MP by his opponents with the intention of unseating him. He told party faithful to shun divisive tendencies and arrogance in their campaign to foster unity among supporters in the area. 30 June 08
