Apam (C/R), April 26, GNA - The Coordinator of the Apam ward of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Isaac Quansah, has appealed to supporters of the party to desist from embarking on activities, which could confuse the leadership. Mr Quansah was commenting on the reaction of supporters of the party at Bunkpurugu Yunyoo, Yendi and Karaga Districts, over the revoking of the appointments of Chief Executives of the areas. He pointed out that "President John Evans Atta Mills might not have done that had it not been because of agitations from some supporters to that effect". "How can they blow "hot and cold" at the same time?" he asked, adding that, how can those who called for the removal of their DCEs turn round to accuse the President for taking that action. Mr Quansah urged the leaders of the party to enforce discipline, by applying measures outlined in the party's constitution on members who misbehave. He said the behaviour of some of the youth, who call themselves foot soldiers could distract the President and his team to do what they should not do. The Ward Coordinator appealed to the foot soldiers to exercise restraint since "it was impossible for a President to employ all his supporters within 16 months of assuming office. He urged ward and constituency executives to liaise with the supporters to update their knowledge on what the government was doing. "Some of the agitations from the foot soldiers were the result of misinformation," he noted and urged them not to allow the propaganda machinery of the opposition to influence them to destroy their beloved party. 26 April 10
