NDC suspends member for bad conduct

Sunyani, Aug 13, GNA - The Brong-Ahafo Regional branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended, Mr. Raphael Cubagee, with immediate effect for assuming positions he does not hold in the party.

A statement signed by Justice Samuel Adjei, regional secretary, said the leadership of the party had found that the conduct and behaviour of Mr. Cubagee could not ensure unity and cohesion in the party.

It said the matter would be referred to the appropriate higher authority for his possible expulsion from the party.

The statement stated that the leadership of the regional branch had followed very closely series of publications in the newspapers in which Mr. Cubagee illegally posed as acting regional chairman and acting chairman of the Sunyani constituency branch.

It said a three-member disciplinary committee set up to investigate the matter recommended that Mr. Cubagee be "seriously" reprimanded to restrain him from causing any further embarrassment to the party."

"The leadership of the party in the region wishes to advise its numerous members and supporters not to do any business with Mr. Cubagee for now as far as the NDC organisations and campaigns in the region are concerned", the statement said.
