The leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would meet today over allegations that it masterminded the accident involving Dr. Mahmoud Bawumia.

The 2012 Vice Presidential candidate of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) was involved in an accident in Bole in the Northern region on Sunday.

He has since been discharged from hospital but the NPP General Secretary, suspects it was an assassination plot by the NDC.

According to Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie popularly known as Sir John, the NDC wants to get rid of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia because the government deems him as a pivotal witness in the ongoing election fraud case.

The NDC has however dismissed the allegations describing them as “unfortunate and sickening”.

Propaganda Secretary of the NDC, Richard Quarshigah speaking to XYZ News said the leadership of the party would meet and officially address the allegations raised by the NPP.
