Mpohor (WR), Dec. 5, GNA - The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will regularize "galamsey'' or small scale mining, if voted back to power on December 7.

Major Samuel Kwame Amponsah (Rtd), a former Member of Parliament for Mpohor Wassa East Constituency, said this at NDC rally at Mpohor on Monday, to canvas votes for Mr. Anthony Bassaw, the party's parliamentary candidate for the area.

He said 'galamsey'' was not a bad economic activity and the NDC would revamp it to create more jobs for the youth. Maj. Amponsah called on the electorate to vote the NPP out of power and said NPP failed to appreciate the legacies of NDC. Mr Samuel Gidi, the NDC constituency Organizer, said the NPP had failed to fulfil its numerous campaign promises and that the party had no realistic policy for the country.

He said the NDC embarked on development projects in the area including rehabilitation of roads, extension of electricity, provision of sanitation facilities and potable water but the NPP Government for the past eight years did not added to the projects. Mr. Gidi said that the incumbent MP for the area, Mr Anthony Evans Amoah was aware that he would lose the seat to the NDC candidate. The NDC constituency organizer called on the electorate not to sell their conscience but to vote the NDC back to power.
