Winneba (CR), Oct. 13, GNA - Mr Kojo Sam Bondzie, Effutu Constituency Chairman of National Democratic Congress Party (NDC) has appealed to the Electoral Commission to ensure that students who intended to transfer their votes provided authentic identification for smooth and orderly transfer of genuine votes. He made the appeal at a press briefing at Winneba attended by Mr Mike Allan Hammah, NDC Parliamentary Aspirant for the Constituency. Mr Bondzie said "reliable information gathered by NDC intelligence network indicated that NPP plans to transfer 6,000 votes to the Constituency." He reminded the electorate that it was an offence to give a voter identity card to a third person to effect a transfer. Mr Bondzie urged activists and supporters of NDC throughout the country, especially those in tertiary institutions to be extremely cautious and watch out for any such tricks. Mr Kofi Taylor, Effutu Constituency Chairman of New Patriotic Party in telephone interview with Ghana News Agency denied that the party had planned to transfer 6,000 votes to the Constituency. He said it was rather the NDC that was planning to transfer votes to University of Education, Winneba and they were monitoring their movements.
