The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) wishes Nana Akufo Addo dead, but they will not have it, Director of Elections for the New Patriotic Party, (NPP) Martin Agyei Mensah Korsah has said.

He wonders why the NDC is so worked up, when the NPP ahead of the upcoming general elections is putting in place adequate security for its Presidential candidate using lawful means.

Martin Agyei Mensah Korsah noted that the NPP which is wide awake has taken the security of its Flag bearer and his running mate Dr Mahamadu Bawumiah very seriously and will not sit aloof for the NDC’s desire to be realized.

His comments come in the wake of the arrest of three South Africans by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) at the El Capitano Hotel in Agona Duakwa in the Central Region for engaging in acts that have the potential of threatening national security.

The three, Major Ahmed Shaik Hazis, 54, (Rtd), WO/ Denver Dwayhe Naidu, 39, (Rtd) and 45-year-old Captain Mlungiseleli Jokani (Rtd) were arrested while training fifteen young men in various military drills, including unarmed combat, weapon handling, VIP protection techniques and rapid response maneuvers.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has confirmed the 15 people being trained by three South African ex-police men are part of its security detail, but denied links to any treasonable motive.

The NDC has condemned the move by the NPP and have further accused the latter of importing mercenaries to come and destabilize the country because of the power Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo is looking for.

But speaking on Okay FM Wednesday, Martin Agyei Mensah Korsah stated that even the way National Security and BNI have handled this matter so far makes vindicates the NPP that it ought not to leave security of its Flag bearer and Running mate in the hands of state security going into the general elections.

“What will be our business entrusting our security into the hands of such institutions. When this matter broke, these security and investigative agencies claimed they had not completed their investigations but look at how they released information to the pro government media outlets to blow up this otherwise harmless issue. We know what is good for us as a party and we’ll do just that.”
