Some youth of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have complained bitterly over a recent comment by former Finance Minister Seth Terkper.
Seth Terkper, in an interview on Accra-based TV3, suggested that the Free SHS policy must be limited to day students across the country.
Using a case study of European countries, Seth Terkper, who may be appointed finance minister, said Ghana must also look at implementing the policy just as it’s being done in Europe.
He said, “Why don’t we follow their examples? What makes us think that we should support free SHS unfettered? Unfettered in the sense that the government takes every cost”.
However, his comments did not sit well with some of the youth of the NDC, who think they have worked so hard to lose the trust of the people.
One comment MyNewsGh.com spotted on social media said, “Who sent Seth Terkper? We have suffered paaaa to make this victory happen. He shouldn’t do it anyhow. Free SHS is for all, including my unborn child’s children. We are in a good mood. Yooooooooo, he should disengage.”
Another one said, “Stop Seth Terkper from media engagement.”
