Accra, April 2, GNA- Ghanaians have been called upon to show much compassion and care for people living with the HIV/AIDS and not to discriminate against them. Madam Kay Morris, President of the Kay Morris Foundation, an international Non- Governmental Organisation (NGO) based in Canada made the call on Friday when the foundation presented medical equipment to the Fevers Unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.

The assorted drugs and clinical kits estimated at about 12,000 Canadian Dollars were to complement government's efforts in providing accessible health care to people living with HIV/AIDS. She said the Foundation was in the country to make separate donation to the Buduburam Refugee Camp and the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, and find out problems facing the two institutions.

Madam Morris who is also an international gospel music artiste said her foundation in conjunction with Ceval Consult and Combert Impressions would organise a musical show on Saturday at the National Theatre to raise more funds to carry out more activities in the country. She said, the Foundation whose motto is "Voice for the Voiceless" hoped to open schools in the country to assist street children, orphans and the less privileged in the society.

Dr. Margaret Lartey, Officer in Charge of the Fevers Unit commended the Foundation for the assistance offered to them and also for finding out their needs. Dr Lartey pointed out that AIDS patients did not only need drugs but food and psychological support among others, adding that these would afford them the strength to contribute their quota to national development. She pledged that the drugs would be put to good use.

Dr. Caesar Ablodeppey, Co-ordinator of the Foundation said they were here to contribute to the lives of the less privileged in the society and pledged the Foundation's unflinching support for such people.
