NIA begins issuance of Ghana Cards for children aged 6-14

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced that issuance of Ghana Cards to children aged 6 to 14 years begins on Monday, October 6, 2025.

According to a press release signed by Williams Ampomah E Darlas, Head, Corporate Affairs Directorate at the National Identification Authority (NIA), the initial phase of the card distribution will cover children who have already completed their registration in 56 districts nationwide.

“The issuance will take place at the designated registration points, specifically the schools where the children were originally registered, beginning with 56 districts nationwide, with the remaining districts scheduled to follow in the coming days,” the statement said.

Ghanaians can now get Ghana Cards instantly - NIA

The cards will be distributed directly at the schools where the initial registration took place.

The NIA stressed that for collection, each child must be physically present and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

The parent or guardian must present the registration receipt (Form A) that was issued on the day of registration.

The authority also assured the public that all backlogs of unprinted Ghana Cards have been cleared, and the remaining districts will be covered shortly.

The NIA appealed to all parents and guardians for their full cooperation to ensure a smooth and efficient card issuance exercise.
