The National Lottery Authority (NLA), has launched a new product designed to give the citizenry an opportunity to win prizes on the Last Set of Five Numbers to be drawn out of the Machine.

Dubbed the ‘Machine Numbers Game’, the product is one of the innovations the NLA is rolling out to stimulate the market, offer players more opportunities to win prizes and fulfill its obligation to the state.

Machine Numbers have been used by some Lotto Forecasters and Players to arrive at the First Set of Five Numbers since 1962.

Brigadier–General Martin Ahiaglo (Rtd), Director-General of the NLA, said as the sole constitutional body mandated by the state to conduct a lottery, there is the need for the Authority to be creative and innovative in order to stay ahead of illegal lotto operators.

He said the NLA has come a long way since 1962 and continues to play an important role in society.

Brig Ahiaglo congratulated the patrons for the goodwill the Authority continues to enjoy among its important partners such as the LMCs, Retailers, Players, Lotto Forecasters, Service Providers and Staff of NLA.

“I want to thank you all for your help in maintaining the continuity of this wonderful game which has been with us since 1962.”

The Director-General said the NLA offers fun and excitement to many people and continue to make an important contribution to worthy causes and activities that foster social cohesion, adding that, “the Lottery industry in Ghana now is in a state of flux”.

He said the activities of Banker-to-Banker operators are at unprecedented levels, adding that these operators make monies go into private pockets and deprive the state of the needed revenue to undertake developmental projects.

Brig Ahiaglo said many sports betting outlet have also sprung up in the last couple of years putting more pressure on punters whose disposal income have not appreciated significantly within the period.

He said the NLA conducted a research study in its key markets before the introduction of the game and research confirmed that a lot of players have on a number of occasions had their staked numbers drop as the Machine Numbers.
