The Nurses and Midwifery Council has apologised to the St. Andrews College of Healthcare for labelling the college as an unaccredited institution.

Public Relations Officer of Nurses and Midwifery Council, Nana Agyeman indicated that the Council had not released any list to the Daily Guide newspaper and therefore did not understand the motive for the publications.

He said the St. Andrews College of Healthcare at Assin Foso is fully accredited by the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) to run health related programs and they are strictly working according to their mandate.

The Council has therefore rendered an unqualified apology to the founder of the St. Andrews College of Healthcare Dr. Richard Kofi Asiedu for the unwholesome publication.

The Nurses and the Midwifery Council last week awoke to see a concocted story by the Daily Guide newspaper seeking to destroy the image of some accredited institutions in the country including a reputable health institution such as the St. Andrews College of Healthcare, the authorities of the above college however threatened to sue the NMC.

The NMC therefore directed the Authors of the Daily Guide to issue a rejoinder.

The rejoinder was thus published by the paper in its 30th August edition of page 18.
