NO TREES, NO TOBACCO

Tobacco farmers in the Nkoranza District of Brong Ahafo who refuse to plant trees will not be allowed to grow the crop again for the Tobacco Company (PTC).

This warning was carried to tobacco farmers at Tankor by Mr. Wisdom Akabutu, Leaf Station Supervisor of PTC at separate forums organised for farmers at Tankor, Fiema, Nkwabeng and Oforikrom at the launching of this year's Abor Day in the Nkoranza District at the weekend.

Mr. Akabutu said the company's objective for instituting the afforestation programme is to let the farmers plant trees to replace those that they fell for farming and for fuel.
