NPP Bribes NDC MPs To Resign?

Tue, 27 May 2003 Source: Palaver

The NPP is allegedly trying to entice some NDC Members of Parliament to resign their positions or defect from the NDC, with mouth-watering promises and offers. The Ghana Palaver newspaper says it has been sitting on this information for a long time but has been compelled to reveal what it knows due to comments made by the NPP National Organiser, Lord Commey last week.

Lord Commey allegedly told polling station agents in the Upper Manya Constituency that three members of the NDC would be resigning from Parliament before the end of the year.

But the Palaver says the move forms part of the NPP’s overall strategy to disintegrate the NDC. Other plans include prosecutions and persecutions, planting stories in the media and the establishment of the national reconciliation commission.

Some NDC MPs who have been approached by the NPP have reported the incident to their party leadership who, in turn advised them to pretend to go along with the plan, milk the NPP and then reject their proposal.
