The New Patriotic Party’s International Branch in China, NPP China, conducted special polls to sample the views of members concerning the upcoming Super delegates Conference. The voting which started on the 20th of August and ended on the 26thof August across all the chapters of the branch was meant to sample the opinion of majority of the members so as to inform the delegates who will be voting on behalf of the branch at the Super delegates Conference on the 31st of August, 2014.

Apart from the Shenyang and Xiamen Chapters of the party, all other chapters voted 100% for Nana Akufo-Addo. Results for the Shenyang Chapter saw Nana Akufo-Addo obtaining 66.7% of total votes cast whiles Alan Kyerematen obtained 33.3%. The other contestants obtained no votes. At the Xiamen Chapter, Nana Addo obtained 89.5%; Alan Kyeremanten obtained 5.3% whiles Joe Ghartey had 5.3%. The others obtained no votes.

Overall, party members of NPP China Branch voted overwhelmingly for Nana Addo as their preferred candidate for the flag bearer position with an approval rating of 85.4% of all votes cast.

This re-affirms the party’s position of offering its total support to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo due to his excellent leadership qualities and his incorruptible personality.

Accordingly, the three super delegates who will be voting on behalf of NPP China, Dr Charles Dwamena, the Branch Chairman; Mrs Owusu Achiaw, Branch Women Organizer and Mr Owusu Achiaw, member of Council of Elders, have been tasked by the branch to vote for no other candidate than Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the sixth candidate on the ballot paper.
