Koforidua, Nov. 12, GNA- The New Patriotic Party (NPP) would not exploit it's incumbency by diverting state funds or resources for its political activities because the party is mobilising resources from its members and sympathisers just as any political party in preparation for the 2004 elections.

Mr Alecs Agobo, Eastern Regional Secretary of the NPP said this at the first general meeting of the new executive of the Koforidua constituency branch of the NPP and the commissioning of its 18-million-cedis refurbished constituency office.

A patron of the party, Mr M.M. Boateng, commissioned the office. Mr Agobo assured members of the party that at the appropriate time the party would make available adequate resources to all branches for a successful campaign towards the 2004 elections.

He said the party was attracting a lot of sympathisers from other parties and urged them to welcome such people into their fold to enable the party to increase it's support base.

Mr Agobo warned that the party would not tolerate any form of indiscipline but would demand that everybody be law abiding. He urged them to mobilize sympathisers of the party to register when the voters' register opens.

Nana Agyepong Trah, the constituency chairman of the party said, the new office would have a small library that would enable members to know the history and activities of the party.

The New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, Nana Adjei Boateng, assured them that he would interact with them regularly to brief them on development projects going on in their areas for them to give their support.

He said his doors were always open for any suggestions and criticisms on projects being undertaken by the Municipal Assembly.
