Lawyer Sulley Sambian, Northern Regional Secretary aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has appealed to aspirants in the ongoing constituency level elections to go about the process without verbal attacks which could ruin the party’s fortunes in 2020.

He disclosed that the party has a bigger monster to face in 2020 and therefore, aspirants should see the internal contest as one in preparation for that herculean task.

“It must be underscored that in these elections, there is only a possibility of two outcomes; you either win or you lose. If you win be a better winner and if you lose be a better (not a bitter) loser.

There is no need to throw verbal punches and salvos at each other. There is no need to embark on name-calling. There is no need to deploy Machiavellian strategies or adopt communist inferior tactics in this contest.

We have a bigger monster out there to face in 2020. We cannot afford to break our ranks at this crucial moment of our political history”, he stated in a released.

PRESS RELEASE FROM LAWYER SULLEY SAMBIAN AND HIS TEAM

Yet again, the NPP is embarking on an internal democratic process intended to elect executives at the various constituencies across the country.

We witnessed a generally peaceful electoral process in the just ended polling station/ward coordinators elections. It is our fervent hope that the NPP as a formidable political party will come out of the constituency elections scheduled for the 24th to 27th February 2018, more united, and with a renewed verve, energy and poise to clinch another victory in 2020.

Team Sambian appreciates that, as a political party in power, the stakes are high in these elections. We, however, entreat every contestant and their supporters to conduct their campaigns decorously and within tolerable limits.

My team and I wish all aspirants the very best of luck in the elections!

May God grant us the grace to celebrate our victories in humility and the strength to bear the pains of our defeats in nobility.

God bless us all and make our nation great and strong.
