NPP Decides: Coronavirus safety protocols observed at Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amanfro

As the ruling New Patriotic Party elects its parliamentary aspirants for the December general elections, a major concern is how delegates and election officials are being protected from coronavirus.

All polling centres are expected to ensure the various safety protocols are observed to avoid the spread of the virus during the election process.

Visiting some polling centres in the Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amanfro constituency, GhanaWeb observed that various safety protocols had been put in place.

No one was allowed into the centres without a face masks and seats were provided with enough spacing.

Some polling centres provided running water and soap for delegates to wash their hands before beginning the process to cast their votes.

For others, each delegate first had to stop at an official to clean their hands with sanitizer before beginning the process.

After casting your vote, each delegate is also expected to leave the polling centre to avoid crowding of the place.

Some delegates who were engaged in conversations outside the polling centres awaiting the close of polls and counting of votes, also exchanged greetings with their elbows instead of the usual handshake.

Ghana has so far recorded 13,203 of coronavirus with 70 deaths and 4,548 recoveries.
