In The Matter Of Ken Agyapong’s War Mongering “Wahala”…

Even though, it has never been in doubt that the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Mr. Williams Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo endorses statements made by his ‘warlord’, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, intelligence picked up by The Informer has it that, elders of the party are not happy about his silent posture and refusal to speak to the matter.

According to this paper’s insider sources, party elders are surprised by and displeased with the rather intransigent stance of Akufo-Addo not to comment on the Assin North MP’s genocidal pronouncements and war declaration, although he is being negatively affected; and they have resolved to force him to state his position on the issue anytime soon.

“Our party elders are of the strong view that, Kennedy Agyapong did not act in isolation, but had the backing of Nana Addo; and that is why in his recent attack on the party, particularly, Nana Akomea, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko and Oboshie Sai-Coffie, he never assaulted Nana of betraying him”, the source further hinted.

“Nana Addo is out of town and as soon as he arrives, the elders of the party will demand of him to state his position on the Kennedy Agyapong matter; because, according to them, his inability to comment on the issue has given room for speculations to the extent that it is being alleged that he has sent delegation to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to beg on Kennedy’s behalf”, the insider stated.

“Some party elders are livid about Nana Addo’s stony silence and have vowed to employ every possible mean to make him speak to the war mongering and genocidal comments of Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, so as to clear the air like he did in the Ursula Owusu alleged assault case”, he added and said though the position by the NPP elders may not be palatable to Akufo-Addo, it will be in his own interest if he really wants to win the come December 07 presidential election. “In fact, it was Nana Addo who first incited his party followers to approach this year’s election with violence with his “all die be die” comment in addition to his avowed position to win power “at all cost”, and must do same to declare his stance on the Kennedy Agyapong’s issue or forget, adding that Ghanaians do not want any violent person as their leader; and if Akufo-Addo refuses to condemn Kennedy Agyapong that is his own cup of tea, the insider concludes. It would be recalled that Kennedy Ohene Agyepong, months ago on his radio station, OMAN FM incited his party supporters to take up arms against Ewes and Gas because, the NPP wants power “at all cost”.

As if his inflammatory statement was not enough, the loudmouth Assin North MP, drawing inspiration from his party’s flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo’s “all die be die” war mantra, and assuming the position of warlord of the NPP “all die be die” brigade, went ahead to declare war on the state, daring the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Paul Tawiah Quaye and the National Security Coordinator, Lieutenant Colonel Larry Gbevlo-Lartey to come and arrest him. He has however, been charged for terrorism, treason, felony and attempted genocide and currently standing trial.
