Anytime elements of the NPP are crying foul, alleging that their opponents are committing a crime against them, all one has to do is to dig deeper and wider to find that it is rather the NPP that is committing that very crime.
Their modus operandi is to accuse their opponents of the crimes they (themselves) are committing to divert the attention of the public.
With this modus operandi in mind, in light of the allegations that Ursula Owusu, an NPP activist and the party’s parliamentary candidate for Ablekuma South was slapped at the Odododiodio constituency by some supporters of the NDC, this paper went to work, digging deeper and wider. Lo and behold, the paper stumbled on how NPP activists beat to pulp the NDC Deputy Women’s Organiser for Techiman North, Cecilia Yeboaah on Friday, April 6, 2012. Almost two weeks after she was battered by the NPP thugs, Cecila Yeboaah still spots a black eye. Indeed, from eye witness accounts, she would have been resting six feet below the earth if Good Samaritans had not come to her aid in the nick of time.
Cecilia Yeboaah’s crime was her refusal to look on unconcerned while NPP activists bring in children and foreigners to be registered at the Tuobodom Presby School where she was stationed.
Having stoically prevented the NPP activists from carrying out their nefarious activities, refusing to be scared away even by the firing of warning shots by one of them, Kwesi Bedie, Cecila was ambushed on her way home in the evening and beaten up until her cries for help attracted Good Samaritans who rushed in to save her.
The MCE for Techiman, Alex Kyeremeh, who rushed to the scene, had her conveyed to the Techiman Holy Family hospital where she was treated and discharged and the matter reported to the police immediately.
Kwesi Bedie and one accomplice have since been arrested. Interestingly, while perpetrating these heinous crimes across the length and breath of the country against even women, it is the NPP which is shouting hoarse about the NDC meting out violence against women after Ursula Owusu’s crocodile tears that she was slapped at the Odododiodio constituency.
