NPP Leadership Warned in Unauthorized Letter Writing

MR. SAMUEL E. A. Narh, Tema Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has warned district and constituency executives of the NPP who are in the habit of writing unauthorized letters to put a stop to it because it breeds hatred and confusion within communities.

He issued the warning when Alhaji Issifu Braimah, NDC constituency chairman and chief driver of Ashaiman

VALCO Flat GPRTU, produced a letter written by Mr. Kofi Agyapong, alias "I Walk Alone", NPP constituency chairman, asking him and his representatives and agents to vacate the lorry station at Ashaiman.

Part of the letter dated March 10, read, "the new lorry station at Ashaiman VALCO Flat Down is a state entity and your occupation, operations and activities are not of public interest.

In the interest of public order and peace in the community, yourself, representatives, or agents are to vacate the station on or before March 15".

This came to light during an arbitration between the GPRTU VALCO Flat branch and the newly registered Cooperative Transport Union over the use of the VALCO Flat Down lorry station.

The GPRTU led by Alhaji Issifu Braimah has objected to using the lorry park together with the newly registered union.

The MCE told the leadership of the two unions to cooperate and work together at the station for the interest of peace.

He stated that it is the prerogative of the TMA to give permit to any well-organized group who wants to do business.

Narh cautioned them to desist from any acts, which will generate into serious confusion because the objective of the two unions was to render good services to commuters.
