Nana Akomea, Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) says the NDC government will not take the country anywhere since it has not been able to solve the water and energy crisis facing the nation after incurring so much debt.

According to him, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration has incurred more debt in four years than all previous administrations, adding; "the money they spent apart from the budget and the supplementary budget last year is worth GH? 8.7 billion".

"What was the money used for?" he questioned.

He alluded to the fact that if this huge amount of money has been borrowed and there is nothing to show for it, there is the need for the current NDC administration to explain to Ghanaians.

Speaking in an interview on Peace FM, Nana Akomea said he does not understand why the NDC government should still be pursuing the ‘Better Ghana Agenda’ when there is so much difficulty in the country.

“Government has exceeded its budget but there is nothing to show for it. This is an indication that the NDC government has nothing good to offer the country…for a government to incur this huge amount means they will take the country nowhere…8 billion dollars for just 4 years; nobody has incurred that level of debt and one would think the country should not be facing any difficulties.”

"However, we have water problem, energy problem, gas and so on; so what is the money being used for? What profit has been yielded so far," He questioned.
