Parliamentary candidate hopeful in the ongoing NPP Primaries, Reginald Niibi Ayi-Bonte has stated that voters who have thronged the Odododiodio constituency are there to vote him back into power after learning from their folly.
According to him, results of a survey conducted by the NPP in the constituency showed that the delegates are rooting for his comeback.
Mr Ayi-Bonte added that, the electorates have seen his potential as a visionary leader to explore Jamestown and its environs to lead the constituency to a ‘greener pasture’.
In an interview with GhanaWeb, the aspiring MP said, “We have done a survey on NPP’s performance in the constituency and I have explained to them why they need to bring Niibi Ayi-Bonte. I have explained to them the job opportunities around them which they cannot see, I have explained to them that knowing the history of Jamestown or Odododiodio itself is wealth around them but it takes a leader to smell the opportunity that this is the opportunity, go and take advantage of it and become successful…and they seem to see that look, this man should have be our leader. It was a mistake and we are going to correct it today”.
The election is currently underway at the Sacred Heart SHS is expected to receive 913 delegates including Council of Elders, Council of patrons, constituency executives and coordinators.
Reginald Niibi Ayi-Bonte was elected as the Member of Parliament of the Odododiodoo constituency in 2000 during the Presidential and parliamentary primaries.
Having served a four-year term, he was unseated by Nii Ayi Mankattah (now deceased) during the 2004 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
