NPP Regional Polls: Protect Akufo-Addo government - Mac Manu

The 2016 National Campaign Manager of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Peter Mac Manu has charged his party members to protect the President Akufo-Addo government.

Speaking at the Western Regional Executive's election at Tarkwa on Saturday, April 21, 2018 to elect new executives to steer the affairs of the party, the former National Chairman of the party, Mac Manu indicated the opposition NDC is peddling a lot of propaganda against the President Akufo-Addo government.

He charged the party members to stand against any propaganda the opposition NDC will peddle against the Akufo-Addo government.

He added that the party members should always verify any news that will be put into media before believing it.

"Protect Akufo-Addo government and don't believe any story that will be put into the media until you verify from the party bigwigs", he emphasized.

He used the occasion to thank the party members within the Region for the great they did during the 2016 general elections which gave the party 16 seats out 26 seats.

He was with great ensurance that the party will win more seats in the Region in 2020.

The NPP won sixteen (16) seats out of twenty-six seats in the Western Region in 2016 parliamentary elections.

A total of 43 candidates are battling for 10 executive positions in the Region.



The elections which begun today, Saturday April 21 2018, will see a sum of 514 voters comprising of 442 delegates (Constituency Executives), 16 Members of Parliament, 16 Regional Executives, 10 Patrons, 10 Council of Elders, 17 TESCON Executive Members, 2 National Council of Elders and 1 Founding Member, partaking in the election of 10 officials in the following positions; Chairman, 1st Vice Chair, 2nd Vice Chair, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Organiser, Youth Organiser, Treasurer, Women Organiser, and Nasara Coordinator.

The party goes into this crucial election with 26 Constituencies.
