On July 16, 2015 in Accra, NPP-USA donated to the Adams Mahama fund which has been established in Ghana to honor the memory of the late Chairman Adams Mahama, one of the party's loyal patriots whose untimely demise shocked the rank and file of our party and the country.
In the wake of the trauma associated with that tragic event, NPP-USA takes cognizance of the fact that our late brother, Adams Mahama left behind a family which needs to be catered for. It is in light of this that the flagbearer of our great party, Nana Akufo-Addo, in his own wisdom and in consultation with the party leadership, created this fund. Nana Akufo-Addo has once again shown leadership, and demonstrated that the NPP and its leaders are people-centered. This reaffirms the party's commitment to recognizing and honoring loyal members who dedicate themselves to the cause of the party.
NPP-USA fully supports the establishment of this fund. The branch, through its treasurer Collins Nuamah, donated one thousand dollars ($1000) to the foundation. Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta who received the donation on behalf of the flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, thanked NPP-USA for such a kind and patriotic gesture, and entreated all and sundry to emulate it.
Back in the USA, the Chairman of NPP-USA, Nana Kwaku Agyei Yeboah, hinted that this donation will not be the last of its kind, and that the branch is committed to making the Adams Mahama foundation a success. He also called on the other external branches the world over to continue to show much concern to the bereaved family; for the late chairman served the party well. He added that it will take hard work to achieve the golden reality that lies ahead of the NPP. He said NPP-USA will work hard with the party to ensure that the memory of Adams Mahama is preserved for 2016 and beyond.
