The NPP Member of Parliament for Wenchi-East, Alhaji Moctar Bamba has accused his party executive of conspiring with his constituency executive to destroy his political career.

Alhaji Moctar Musa Bamba who lost the primaries in his constituency yesterday told Peacefm on the Kokrokoo morning show hosted by Sefa Kayi that he will contest the seat in the parliamentary elections as an independent candidate. Alhaji Bamba who is a former deputy minister at the office of the president alleged that prior to the primaries, his party executives in the constituency were taken to a hotel in the area, where they were influenced financially so that they could vote against him. The MP who lost to Prof George Gyan Baffour of the National Planning Commission by 56 to 35 votes said he will campaign for President Kufuor but will pursue his career by going solo. He said although he loves the NPP, his life is at stake and nothing can stop him from the decision he has taken.

Meanwhile the general secretary of the party, Mr. Dan Botwe says the party is not involved in any conspiracy to make him lose in the primaries. Mr. Botwe said although the party cannot prevent Alhaji Bamba from going solo, the party has a strategy that will make it maintain the seat in the Wenchi-East constituency.
