The Central Regional Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress(NDC),Bernard Allotey Jacobs, has said that he fears majority of the NPP supporters will commit "mass suicide" due to the false hope instilled in them by their party leaders that Nana Addo will soon ascend to the Presidency.
He does not understand why the NPP keeps giving their supporters false hope; telling them that they will win the court case and Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo would become the President.
However, Bernard Allotey Jacobs who obviously think the NPP has sent the same message of hope to their supporters think that if they don’t take care they will lose majority of their supporters in a "mass suicide".
“The leadership of the NPP have become dooms day politicians. They are putting false hope in their supporters and if they don’t take care they will let their supporters commit mass suicide. If you listen to what the supporters are saying; they have been filled with something, a hope that they can still get the presidency. They are just trying to build some hope in their supporters but if they don’t take care they will let them commit mass suicide,” he said.
Contributing to a panel discussions on Wednesday’s edition of Peace FM’s morning show programme ‘kokrokoo’, he added that the NPP is facing a ‘serious internal crisis’ and are just using the court case as a cover up.
In accordance to the ruling of the Supreme Court on Tuesday, the next move is for the Supreme Court to sit on the substantive issue which is the election petition presented by the NPP.
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court ruled in favour of the National Democratic Congress by a majority of 6-3, allowing them to join the suit that was presented by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Many of the party executives and kingpins that peacefmonline.com has spoken to, are hopeful that the final ruling of the Supreme Court in the end will go in their favour.
