..... DISTRIBUTING TRACTORS FOUR MONTHS TO ELECTIONS, SAYS AKUFO-ADDO

The 2012 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo is cautioning the Ghanaian electorate to be careful of politicians who come to them a few months to elections with cash and material inducements to solicit their votes.

He said "a government that will starve you for three and half years only to come back to you a few months to elections with money for your votes is a wicked government."

He continued: "what you have to bear in mind is that when you vote for them in December you have to wait another three and half years before getting anything from them."

The NPP leader has therefore appealed to the Ghanaian people to reject President Mills and his NDC government in December.

"President Mills and his NDC government have showed clearly that they don't have any good policies and programmes that will help improve the lives of the people," Nana Addo said.

He remarked that "a government that cares about you will be in constant touch with your concerns and problems and be finding solutions to these problems all year round."

He said what Ghanaians are rather witnessing today is a complete neglect of the people for three and half years by the NDC government only to return to them with tractors and money a few months to general elections.

Nana Akufo-Addo has appealed to the Ghanaian people to peacefully retire President Mills and his NDC government to make way for the NPP to come back and continue the good works that president Kufuor started.

He said the Ghanaian people deserve better than what the NDC is giving them today and “the earlier we all show them the exit, the better for our country's future.”

He said modernizing agriculture to create jobs for the people, improving the National Health Insurance Scheme to make it more effective and providing access to free quality education are part of the NPP's grand plan to improve the living standards of the people of the three northern regions.

Nana Addo and his running mate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia are currently in the Upper West Region with their nationwide tour to restore hope.

On Tuesday, they toured the Lambussie, Lawra-Nandom and Jirapa constituencies.

Accompanying Nana Addo and Dr Bawumia on the tour are Hon Ambrose Dery, Deputy Minority Leader and MP for Lawra-Nandom and Alhaji MND Jawula, former Chief Director of the Ministry of Health.
