Accra, Jan.29. GNA - The Youth Wing of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Thursday called for the prosecution of those implicated in the Dagbon Chieftaincy Crisis by the Wuaku Commission.

Mr Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, President of the Youth Wing, told a press conference at NPP Headquarters in Accra, said: "We, in the Youth Wing believe that the government has bent back so much with regard to the issue of Dagbon and we think it is time to confront the issue once and for all.

"Ladies and Gentlemen of the press, we believe the tolerance of the President has itself become intolerable. We need to act before anarchists take advantage to cause confusion in Dagbon during this year's election."

Mr Abdul-Hamid said attempts to link the Government to the Dagbon crisis were subversive and those making such allegations should be put before court to prove it.

He referred to a recent forum organised by the Movement for Democratic and Social Change and said it sought to politicise the Dagbon crisis and cause confusion in Dagbon.

He said such unsubstantiated and wild allegations led to violent protests by a section of the Youth in Tamale, last year, leading to the destruction of 25 houses belonging to the NPP supporters and sympathizers.
