Anyinam, August 26, GNA - Alhaji Mustapha Bamba, the National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), on Thursday cautioned the National Democratic Congress (NDC), not to intimidate NPP supporters at Atiwa.

He alleged that the NDC was trying to bring "Asoka" boys from Tamale to terrorize people during the forthcoming Atiwa Parliamentary by-election.

Alhaji Bamba told journalists at Anyinam that NPP was fully prepared to meet the NDC "boot for boot" and that the NPP would not entertain the type of behaviour the NDC exhibited during the Akwatia by-election last year.

He predicted a landslide victory for the NPP candidate, Mr Kwasi Amoako Attah, in the forthcoming bye-election. Alhaji Bamba said the NPP government created a separate district for the area, improved agriculture and executed many development projects, citing the building of roads and classrooms, in Atiwa. He said the late Mr Amoako Attah, who was Member of Parliament for the area, started projects that needed someone like him (Mr Attah) to continue.

Alhaji Bamba said judging by the results of Election 2008 in the area, there was no way the NDC could win the seat. "We know we will win the seat with wide margin to prove to the NDC that the NPP was solid on the ground", he emphasized. Alhaji Bamba said the Atiwa electorate would reject the NDC once again due to its poor performance. 26 Aug. 10
