NPP congratulates Tarkwa MP on election as President of Young Parliamentarians Forum

The Member of Parliament for Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency in the Western Region, George Mireku-Duker has been elected as the President of Young Parliamentarians Forum.

This is a global organisation of National Parliaments that work with Parliamentarians to safeguard peace and drive positive democratic change through political dialogue and concrete actions.

It is locally referred to as "Parliamentarians Forum".

It is also a global union established in every Parliament across the world and associate member of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

Membership is made up of MPs within the age bracket of 45yrs. Thus, 45yrs and below MPs.

Hon. Duker is a young first entrant MP who contested and won over 75% of the total vote cast at an election held on 01/08/2019 to serve a two-year term.

He pulled this percentage to beat the other four equally competent colleagues.

Speaking to Daniel Kaku over the weekend, the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency Communications Director of the NPP, Mr Ebenezer Anane Atuahene congratulated the MP for winning such a prestigious position and encouraged him to work hard to fulfil his two-year mandate.

He, therefore, urged all Ghanaians to rally behind the MP in prayers to fulfil his mandate as the President.

Mr Atuahene emphasized that "The people of Tarkwa-Nsuaem are proud of your steady progress in quality representation and connectivity prowess".

He continued that "The NPP family, especially your Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituents are proud of you".

He concluded that "Parliament of Ghana is proud of you. Ghana is proud of you. We trust in your ability and competence to fulfilling your mandate with excellence. Again, we say congratulations. Ayikooo. Reach the highest of heights. God be your helper".
