NPP edits 2016 manifesto

Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea has stated that painstaking editing of the manifesto of the party has delayed its launch for the 2016 campaign.

Nana Akomea said but for the thorough editing, the NPP would have launched its manifesto on August 4, 2016.

He said the NPP planned to unveil the manifesto on August 4, but it later became necessary for the manifesto to be edited again to reduce the number of pages.

“Currently, the manifesto is ready but it contains a little over 100 pages so the party’s leadership decided that we should reduce the pages to about 40 or 50.

“The need for the pages to be reduced caused the delay of the official unveiling of the manifesto,” the NPP official disclosed during an interview.

Speaking to King Edward of Hello FM in Kumasi, Nana Akomea, said the NPP’s manifesto would be made public possibly by the close of this month.

He disagreed with those that have maintained that the NPP’s manifesto had delayed, saying that the largest opposition party was still on schedule.

According to him, the party unveiled its 2012 manifesto on August 29.

Nana Akomea denied reports that the NPP had intentionally delayed its 2016 manifesto because it was afraid that the NDC might steal its ideas.

“We shall unveil our manifesto which would be our trump card to win the elections irrespective of the NDC’s plan to steal our programmes and policies.

According to him, the NPP would emerge victorious in the general elections no matter the harassment by members of the NDC.

He disclosed that all the programmes and policies that the NPP would implement effectively to develop the country had been captured in the 2016 manifesto.

Nana Akomea said Ghanaians have lost confidence in the NDC so they would vote massively for the NPP in the December polls.

He said all the polls conducted by respectable bodies recently have indicated that the NPP would win the general elections to restore hope to the citizenry.
