NPP has a "brilliant" campaign team – Kwasi Amakye

Political scientist Kwasi Amakye has said the composition of the campaign team announced by the opposition New Patriotic Party is “brilliant”.

The flagbearer of the NPP Nana Akufo-Addo at a Conference of the party in Sunyani over the weekend announced the party’s campaign team for the 2016 elections.

Former chairman of the party Peter Mac Manu was named the campaign manager while the running mate of the party Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will coordinate affairs during the campaign.

Commenting on the team, the lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology told Nii Arday Clegg on the Morning Starr Monday the team looks good and efficient for the task ahead.

“The campaign team as it stands now is brilliant. It looks brilliant and good. Everybody in there is competent and capable of playing the roles they have assigned for them and so I’m looking forward to a very competitive campaign in 2016,” he stated.

He also added that the party can go ahead and win the elections without its suspended national chairman Paul Afoko and General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong.

“It is possible for them to win the elections without them. Because their constituencies are within the NPP. And so between Akufo-Addo and Mahama, an NPP person will still prefer Akufo-Addo”.
