Hohoe, (V/R), June 18 GNA - Mr Dan Botwe, General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), said on Thursday that the Government was not using partisan considerations in determining development trends in any of the 10 Regions.

The NPP General Secretary, who was interacting with Journalists at Hohoe at the end of his six-day tour of seven constituencies in the northern part of the Volta Region, said the holistic development of every part of the country had proved sceptics wrong.

He said the NPP administration was continuing with all development projects initiated by the previous government of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mr Botwe's tour covered Krachi West, Krachi East, Nkwanta North, Nkwanta South, Kadjebi-Akan, Biakoye and Buem constituencies. The General Secretary said: "Politics is about which government would deliver the needed development to meet the aspirations of the people."

Mr Botwe urged the Party's hierarchy in the Region to organise lectures to debunk the wrong notion and prejudices that the NPP was alien to the Region.

He mentioned Mr Samuel G. Antoh; Mr Amatoh; Mr Ayeke and others as pillars of the Danquah-Busia Tradition whose toil should be immortalised to commemorate their efforts at deepening democracy in the country. Mr Botwe commended the chiefs and people for showing appreciation for the Government's development efforts and urged them to translate that into votes for the NPP in Election 2004.

Mr Kenwuud Noworsu, Regional Chairman of NPP, predicted that the NPP would win at least six parliamentary seats in the Region, stressing that "surprises would come from the southern part of the NDC's 'world bank'.

He said the NDC exploited NPP's boycott of the 1992 elections to consolidate its position in the Region.

He said The Danquah-Busia stronghold during the 1968 elections was acclaimed in the Region and appealed to the people to be part of the winning team of the Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
