The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) says it will not be perturbed if the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) steals ideas from its manifesto.

“If we launch our manifesto and they will steal it, it is all good for Ghana”, NDC National Organizer, Kofi Adams told Onua FM’s Yen Sempa hosted by Kwasi Asempa on Tuesday.

Mr. Adams who is also the party’s 2016 Campaign Coordinator was shedding light on the proposed launch of the NDC’s manifesto on Saturday September 17 in the Brong Ahafo Regional capital, Sunyani.

There were fears by the NPP that the NDC might lift ideas from the NPP’s document to add to its manifesto should the NPP launch its manifesto earlier than the NDC.

This has caused the NPP to postpone the launch of its manifesto, at least twice. Mr. Adams said “in 2012, we launch our manifesto in October so that has been our tradition.

But this year, we have decided to launch it earlier that is why we are launching it in September”. He added that the “NPP wants to be ‘more catholic than the pope’ by copying what the NDC has been doing and making it their own”. Mr. Adams maintained if the NPP is interested in stealing from the NDC, the party will not be “perturbed because it is all in the interest of Ghana”.
