The Ghana Police Service has commenced investigations into an alleged burglary case involving the office of the former Attorney General and lead counsel of the NPP legal team challenging the December polls result, Lawyer Gloria Akuffo.

A special aide to the NPP leader, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, disclosed the burglar’s invasion on Facebook.

Mr. Otchere-Darko’s announcement on his facebook page was reported to have attracted a quick response from an aide to President John Mahama, Stan Dogbe, stating.

"It is no longer Ayikoi Otoo who is heading the team of lawyers?” the presidential aide asked on Facebook. "Who knew Gloria as even part of the lawyers to make any plans against her? Let's cut [these] infantile political games. Condemnable petty break-ins should not be politicized. I could have also made noise when NPP hoodlums went harassing the security man at my wife's office for two nights continuous."

Lawyer Gloria Akuffo who heads the Blay & Associates Law firm had her office broken into by some unidentified persons, making away some vital documents and also destroying some servers in the office last Sunday.

The Accra Regional Police, Public Relations Officer (PRO), ASP Freeman Tetteh, speaking on Joy Fm confirmed that the police have gathered some information and has commenced investigations.

Meanwhile, the PRO could not clearly state how the burglars broke into the office indicated “it will be pre-mature for me to disclose information to the public, because investigations are ongoing and once the police are done, we will come out and tell the public”.

He also stressed that the police have not been able to make any arrest so far.

“What I can say on record for now is that, whether is a robbery case, is another issue but our preliminary investigations indicate that three other offices belonging to different companies have also been affected”.

In a related development, some workers of the Law firm have expressed fear about their lives in working in the company. “My question is what was the security at the office complex doing when the perpetrators broke into the office, so many questions need to be answered” one of the receptionists submitted.
